Gandhi Ashram Restoration and Expansion Project

The Trust has been entrusted with the responsibility of restoring, augmenting, and maintaining the Gandhi Ashram, under the Gandhi Ashram Restoration and Expansion Project. The idea is to restore the Gandhi Ashram back to its original extent as it was established by Gandhiji himself back in 1917.

This will be carefully done in a way that preserves the ethos of the original ashram for it to continue to keep alive Mahatma Gandhi’s values and philosophy. It will continue to inspire future generations across the world.

While the Gandhi Ashram Precinct will restore and expand the original Ashram precinct, the Ashram Memorial will conserve, exhibit and celebrate the Mahatma’s life and work.
